Hi all you "old" original VegSourcers - thought I would drop in and say hello. There are still a lot of familiar names here, and I am glad there is still one general interest board that hasn't been taken over by political discussions.

Just in case anyone is interested.....our son (who was only about eight or nine years old when VegSource started) just finished his first year at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, and (proud mom speaking) made the dean's list. He is studying computer science and loves programming although he is also interested in networking. This summer he is working at the IT department where his dad works. Nepotism rules!

My husband celebrated Independence Day by breaking his left big toe, but is otherwise intact and still working for the state Department of Environmental Quality in Radiation Safety. He managed to earn enough points to qualify for Air Force retirement - although he still has to wait 15 more years to receive it. We had considered moving to another state after our son went to college, but decided that the cost of living here is so low that we would be better off saving our money now so we can retire where we want (hopefully).

I am still working as a medical transcriptionist at the local hospital. It is interesting work, at times sad, but I feel I am contributing something positive to society by being part of a team of people who are trying to help those in need of health care.

We are getting ready to move into a brand new home (same town) - only the second home we've ever owned, and the first new one. Just about ten days and we should be through all the red tape and moved in. It is in a housing addition but there is a small man-made lake in the middle with a good-sized greenbelt, and we got one of the last lakeside lots. Our back yard slopes down to the lake. It's probably the closest we'll ever get to living out in the country, and we are looking forward to many afternoons sitting out on our back patio and enjoying the scenery.

Emme and Jam, congratulations on your marriage! We wish you all the best. Emme, sorry I never made it by to see you when we went out to Colorado to visit family. But then, I would love to visit England.... ;)

John(HI), Razz, Cato, CC, Tweety, Rocket Scientist, Werepoodle, Tom ZeCat, Glenda, Keith, Sandy Laurie, Surya, and of course Jeff and Sabrina, good to see you're all still around and things are going well. Sorry if I've left anyone out - I was scanning the page for familiar names.

I do pop in now and again just for old time's sake....this time I thought I would say hello. Hope everyone is doing well. Feel free to email me if you like.
