I've been McDougalling for about three weeks now, and I love it. Of course, I have "naysayers" in my family who harp on me about not getting the required amino acids in vegetable sources versus animal sources. I know that plants provide all but two (I think) amino acids. What are the amino acids that I'm missing out on by eating a vegan diet? Are they necessary? And can I supplement them from other sources other than animal? I know my diet is way better than it was before when I was eating animal products and processed foods, but I feel the need to defend myself against others who are not educated with the vegan worlds. Does anyone have any advice to give, or even better provide me with the ammunition to help shoot these "naysayers" down?
