I started McDougalling after some major medical problems. My doctor gave me a few weeks to follow this program before starting medications. Because of the time frame I really did use some of the recipes in the book. I found some that I liked and repeated them. Some I changed by excluding ingredients (such as alfalfa sprouts) that I didn't have on hand. Some of the recipes just didn't appeal, so I didn't use them. You have to enjoy what you are eating. Here are some I repeated often: Quick Oatmeal - pg. 180, and Hash Browns - pg. 184 were my breakfasts. Whole Grain Bread Sandwich with Vegetables - pg. 187, and the Peasant Salad - pg. 210 were my favorite meals to brown bag for my lunch. Curried Vegetables - pg. 237, and my own stir fries over brown rice or ww pasta recipe became my favorite evening meal. I branched out with other McDougall recipes from other books and the recipe site after a few weeks. Hope you have a wonderful McDougall journey. :)
