I never really dieted for the purpose of losing weight until I was 26. I'd put on a few pounds, and I'd lost a few pounds over the years, and I just figured that was a normal part of life. I thought I was beautiful no matter what I weighed. :) Man, I would give anything to have that attitude back.

My first "diet" was a diet for my hypoglycemia at age 18. It was kind of a high protein, low-calorie thing. Dr. sponsored, of course. I felt OK on it once I got used to it, and it got me off sodas, which was a good thing.

After I got divorced, I got into working out as a stress relief, and depression buster. Somehow over the next two years, I became obsessed with the number on the scale. Heck, before that I'd only weighed in at my annual Pap! I'd never even owned a stupid scale. Another attitude I would give anything to have back.

Have you been able to trace your dieting cycle to things that are going on in your life, or is it just strictly a trimester type thing? Is it stress, boredom? You say it's been this way since you started McDougalling...is it possible that you were changing your dietary habits in a cycle before you came to McDougall? (I.E. lot of salad during the summer months, and more potatoes during winter).
