The delegation of six lawmakers from the lower house's Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will inspect meat-processing plants and animal feed facilities in some Midwestern states after meeting in Washington with U.S. government and beef industry officials. (Kyodo News) fact-finding mission ? ha ha, the lawmakers in this tour will be bought out from the moment they step of the plane, but will they be convinced enough to encourage Japan's govt. to lift the beef ban? The meat-processing plants and animal feed facilities are being scrubbed now while all the mad cows are quietly being turned into pet food or Republican senators. There's actually an interesting comparison between the American beef and auto industries - poor management, incentives required to sell both and little quality in either.
