Lord Whitty: The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
(Defra) has a policy of reviewing its research programmes every four to
five years. The last review of the entire research programme on
transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) was carried out in
December 2000. An additional review of Defra-funded sheep TSE research,
including projects on scrapie epidemiology, was carried out in December
2001.

nice to know they are stead fast working on the atypical scrapie cases.
i see now why the VERMONT sheep in the USA that had the atypical
TSE, i see now why the UK put a hold on those studies that should
have began some 2 years ago. yep, the writing is on the wall, more BSeee.
seems they simply do not want to know if BSE is in the sheep flocks, or
at least do not want to announce it yet...
