Beef News In a signal that Japan is in no hurry to end the ban, a Japanese health official said that the country was more concerned with improving its own inspection procedures for cattle first, and would not address the U.S. import ban until it had settled that issue. According to Asia Pulse, Japanese food safety chief Hiroshi Nakagawa said, "We will move on to Japan-U.S. talks on lifting the ban after specifics about the new domestic inspection regime are decided."
