PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
THE SPONGIFORM ENCEPHALOPATHY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
OPEN MEETING The September meeting of the Spongiform Encephalopathy Advisory Committee
(SEAC) will be open to the public. This will take place on Tuesday 28th
September 2004
at the Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury, London. The meeting commences at 10 am
and will
end at approximately 1 pm.
Admittance will be by registration only with places issued on a ‘first
come, first served’
basis.
If you wish to attend the September meeting, please contact the SEAC
Secretariat at the
address below by no later than Wednesday 22nd September 2004.
The agenda and the papers for the September meeting will be finalised
shortly and will
be available on the SEAC web site one week prior to the meeting.
SEAC’s remit is to provide scientifically based advice to the Department
for Environment
Food and Rural Affairs, the Department of Health, the Food Standards
Agency, and the
devolved administrations on matters relating to spongiform
encephalopathies, in
particular BSE and variant CJD. The meeting will enable interested
groups and
individuals to observe and gain an insight into the workings of the
Committee and to
increase the public’s understanding of TSEs.
