If I'm not mistaken, trans-fats are manmade, unlike the fat in either coconut oil or animal fats. But those fats are highly saturated, which is probably what you're thinking of. There is controversy about whether or not coconut oil is a healthy fat, personally I think it's not. All saturated fats should be avoided. Even a high amount of unsaturated fat should be avoided, the best plan for health is between 10-20% fat overall, from plants. Most people get far, far more than that due to their SAD diet. Trans fats are fats that are chemically altered to be solid at room temperature, they're particularly harmful.
