Hi, I'm very new to this way of being.Sent Dr.Doug some info about my current state of health which is not very good.This morning whilst sitting eating watermelon for breakfast,someone I have spoken with twice(who saw 80/10/10 book next to me)said she had followed Pritikin for a long time.Told me I need to eat fish for protein and not to make the 80/10/10 a "god" and become obsessed.As someone who had not even had the word vegan in my vocabulary till about 10 years ago I have moved in that time from varying stages of "healthy eating".I am just starting my third week following the menu advice in 80/10/10 and am finding that it quite easy to eat the quantities of fruit and veg.suggested without resorting to the fats that I had been using in my earlier "raw" attempts.Having been strong enought to beat cigarette,alcohol and cannabis use(all at same time)8 years ago,I'm determined to create a healthy body.However I know I am not always emotionally strong and am very tired,though have been doing lots of walking and cycling for quite some time now plus just started muscle building in gym,so I have posted this as an introduction and for some support and encouragement from others who are further along a healthy path(I am not getting any real support in the physical location in which I live I live currently in the UK.)Many thanks and my wishes for continued wonderful health to you all.
