First of all congratulations on your decision to go vegetarian!
You don't "have to" do anything. There are no vegetarian police who will come after you (though occasionally an over-zealous vegetarian may try to appoint themselves to that position).
It is a good thing in the long run to eliminate slaughterhouse products like leather from your lifestyle, because they do send out the wrong message to others. But be gentle on yourself. Most people cannot afford to replace a substantial portion of their wardrobe in one shot. Imposing suffering on yourself will make you resent your new lifestyle choice and won't do anything to bring those animals back to life.
What many people do is to replace one item at a time as they wear out or as they can afford to. Keeping an item until it wears out is the least wasteful thing to do. If you cannot bear to keep something and can afford to replace it before it is worn out, donate it to a thrift shop like the Salvation Army. That way, someone else can benefit from its use without having to purchase a new item that would require another animal to be killed.
Good luck on your journey!
Keith
