The Nelsons decided that while the girls were away for the summer, they were going to plant some watermelons. When the watermelons were ready for picking, they gathered them into a pile. Jeff said, "Well, I'm the honcho, so I will take half of what is in the pile and one half of one watermelon." Sabrina said, "Well, if that formula is good for Jeff, I will do the same. I will take half of what is left in the pile and one half of one watermelon." Willie, quickly grasping the ins and outs of watermelon divvying up said, "Sounds like a good way to divvy things up. I will take half of what is left in the pile and one half of one watermelon." After each had taken their share, there were no watermelons left in the pile and none had been cut or broken apart. Each enjoyed eating watermelon from their own share and even let the girls have some when they returned. At the very least, how many watermelons were there in the original pile and how many did each take? Reply To This Post Return to Posts Index VegSource Home
