one ping-pong table to share? Basketball hoop to share? Something that encourages them to play together and be active . . . soccer nets so you can set up a field? lacrosse sticks? Home-made field-goal posts and white paint for a football field? (I'm assuming you have a big patch of grass) one very nice pair of binoculars (bird watching)? backpacks? how much is the cheapest gps device? Wouldn't a cool gift be to go bury something nice for them all in a nice place just off a trail that you know, give them a cheap (if there is such a thing) gps device to share and learn to use, and they could all have clues to solve that will help them put a map together and they need to use the gps to find the rest of the present? new tent? new tent(s) -- individual styles? New sleeping bag? Star-charting equipment (book on constellations and stargazing helps) . . . a few backpacking supplies and a promise to go soon? Cheaper: a food dehydrator + cookbook for backpacking/dehydrated food, and tell them to make cool stuff so they can eat well when they are gone fishing for the day (and don't catch anything).
