Subject: Veggie Candy Corn?
Date: September 5, 2003 at 10:36 am PST

Hi everyone! I'm a 19 year old from Seattle, WA, currently a sophomore at the U of WA. I've been vegetarian since I was 9 and every year around Halloween my heart breaks because my favorite candy used to be candy corn (maybe because it looks like a veggie? ha ha) until I found out that Brach's uses pork-derived gelatin in their candy (I had been told the gelatin was artificial).

Does anyone know of a source of candy corn (or the pumpkins too, you know the sugary little ones) that is vegetarian? Or have any idea how I could, gulp, possibly make my own? I'm so tired of missing out. I also don't eat any partially hydrogenated oils so the candy I can have is limited. Any info or tips would be SO appreciated. Thanks everyone!
