Might work on children (because children have an immune system that's more easily manipulated) but on adults it generally doesn't work.

Same goes, probably, for tea tree oil. It may help to spur the immune system into action, but the evidence for this is rather weak (unlike the evidence for it working as an anti fungal agent, which actually is quite strong).

It probably won't hurt to try it - you may get lucky.
