I've been on Fosamax for 2 1/2 yrs but just a month ago developed very swollen, parched, chapped, red lips with tiny red spots & corners so dry & tight & painful that I couldn't open my mouth fully. Neither I, my primary doc or the ENT i was referred to connected condition with Fosamax - despite the fact that when I first started Fosamax I did have slightly swollen lips. Doc at that time didn't think could be related & urged me to continue Fosamax which I did & the swelling went away. My daughter suggested the connection now having learned from an older woman at her workplace of a similar reaction. I've been on a 4 day course of Prednisone, using Carmex & over the counter 1% hydrocortisone cream all of which temporarily relieve the symptoms but the condition is NOT really improving. With doc's agreement I am stopping the Fosamax and we'll wait to see if the swelling goes away. I'll post again with results.
