Hi I also recommend the book called Beating Cancer with Nutrition by Patrick Quillen. He is the Director of Nutrition for Cancer Treatment Centers of America. His web site is www.4nutrition.com He is a PH.D, RD, CNS. He also has phone consultations. If your friend can go to one of these centers for treatment, that would also be an option. They do intregrative approaches to cancer..( holistic and allopathic) His book is great. I hope this helps.. Diane
