Hi All, My (good) experiences with acupuncture over the last year have inspired me to write a short story which features a Chinese medical practitioner - a doctor of Chinese medicine. But my ignorance is getting in the way - so, can someone give me a few basic pieces of information: 1. What is the typical education for a Chinese practitioner in the United States? That is, is it like an MD, where you get a degree from a 4-yr. university, then go to medical school, then have a residency? I know naturopaths typically go through that process, but what about Chinese doctors? 2. How many years of training does it typically take to become a Chinese practitioner? 3. Is it typical, in the US, to refer to a Chinese practitioner as "Dr. So-and-so?" 4. What is the title given to a Chinese practitioner? That is, an allopathic doctor is an M.D., a naturopath is an N.D. What about a Chinese doctor? Thanks for the help. RS
