In Reply to: Oh, OK....AIDS is not caused by HIV, and the world is flat? posted by Pat on June 3, 2003 at 12:23 pm:

Pat you really talk a good talk, but you don't say much. You seem to enjoy being a critic. I'm not saying that you have to agree with everything, but you act like a spoiled child looking for attention. If people decide to spend their time replying to your posts that is a courtesy to you. I have no need or desire to change your way of thinking, but if I offer you information it's not to provide you with your evening's entertainment. It's actually something I believe and while you may not respect what I believe you don't have to disrespect me in the process. As far as the HIV/AIDs connection goes, it has never been proven. About half of all people who die of AIDS never get HIV, and one researcher even injected himself with HIV infected blood and never got HIV or AIDS (he built up his immune system). AZT was going to be used as a cancer drug until they realized that it destroyed the immune system (sounds like the AIDS process to me). Many researchers believe that HIV and AIDS get a foothold in people with poor immune systems (sounds like the malnourished people of Africa to me) and that the true problem is not drugs (they don't seem to be working) but food and lifestyle choices. As far as cholera, it has been prevented with essential oils. People (example - the famous four French thieves)survived the plague by eating crushed garlic in vinegar and using essential oils (go argue with history). If you do some real research you can find examples of people using herbs and other natural things with most major epidemics. Before you start thinking too hard about your reply you may want to know that I grew up in a medical family (surgeon/researcher for a father, trauma/hospice nurse for a mother)and I am married to an engineer (you don't argue nearly as effectively as you could - maybe you can work on that instead of replying to me, it would be more productive). My mother recently used nutritional and herbal treatments with a 37 year old woman who has been bedridden for over a year. She's pretty happy with the results - no more radiation, no more hospice. My own daughter won her loosing battle with a lupus-like condition. Research is great, but when combined with experience you create people who actively try to help others, like the people who post here. It's too bad that you don't see that people are actually changing lives here - mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, grandparents, children are being healed. That becomes pretty personal when it's your loved one. Show some respect and you may receive some.
