Subject:         Low Cholesterol High Triglycerides

Hi Everyone,

I have been away from the board for a bit. Those who know me might recall that
I am a devote for over 10 years of Dr Esselesty's program, having lost 150 lbs
and keeping it off all these years. Just got results back from my annual check up
and they are as follows: hdl-46, ldl 55 and total cholesterol 149. so far so good.
However Triglcerids are 242. Last year they were 134. My A1C is 5.1
The Dr said I don't have sugar.

I don't eat any sweets other that lots of fruit, mostly apples everyday. The rest
of my diet is beans veggies, brown rice and steel cut oats. The one indulgence is
that I take a bag of fresh cranberries and add 3/4 cup sugar and water and make
ices out of it. This I eat perhaps once every two months.

I never deviate from the diet and do my own cooking and never use any
processed foods and of course fat. Hardly eat out, but if I do only steamed
veggies. I don't eat bread and for the last half year I will have a brown rice cake
daily.

Any ideas why Triglycerides should be so high. I am fortunate to have a
cardiologist who runs a very similar program to Dr E in NYC. I am seeing him for
my annual in a few weeks so perhaps I will have an answer shortly.

Anybody ever experience this? Thanks. I hope everyone is doing great and
following the wisdom of Dr Pinkney.

One last thing, never had heart disease.
