Blood fat test results are strongly effected by recent dietary intake. Since it is unusual for an obese person on a standard diet to have low blood fat, it would be reasonable to have the test done again.

It would be interesting for your uncle to have a body fat test. Some fitness centers and health food stores offer the test, which is not invasive and takes only a minute, for free or for a very small charge.

If the results of a retest are the same, the question for the doctor is what might be causing this and what should be done, if anything, to remedy it.
