I have been a vegetarian for 40 years and recently had 95% blockage of the Left Anterior Descending (LAD)artery. This is the classic "widow maker" and the same block the famous runner Jim Fixx had many years ago. A stent was placed in my LAD and has opened things back up. Prior to finding the block, I fast-walked/jogged 4 miles 4-5 times per week and had no shortness of breath or chest pain. Diet is one thing; genetics is another. Still a vegetarian, but just sayin'.......
