I recently found out that I had a 60% blockage in my left anterior descending artery, and 50% blockages in a couple others, not the "widow maker". My cardiologist does not believe that it has ever been truly proven that heart disease can be reversed, and wants me on statins. I need some perspective! How bad is this? I have never had a cardiac event. After being on the diet for about a month, my total cholesterol dropped to 143, and my LDL down to 93. Do I really need to be on statins? I would really like to find a cardiologist in the Portland area who is familiar with Esselstyn, Ornish, etc.
