Very good point. To challenge doctors it is necessary and in many cases. Pardon me to comment that you missed to add what may be even more relevant: that what Dr. Ancel Keys did unfortunately led to the widespread acceptance of trans fats in products like margarine, vegetable shortening and partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.

Misinformation also should be challenged. I believe that most people of this forum challenge their doctors to prevent or to reverse coronary diseases (at least I do it – as I think that with all the information nowadays available, patients have the obligation to be informed). I am happy when doctors like Drs. Esselstyn, McDougall, and Collin Campbell challenge other doctors that are for mechanical solutions, without prevention or reversion solutions (vegan in our case). Our docs use scientific and practical methods. Their papers and publications explain their theories and practices. Our Dr. Pinckney supports our decisions to challenge.

Let me congratulate you for being a person that challenges the system!
