Neither coffee or limited intake of sugar should interfere with a balanced reversal program. A few cups of coffee, without milk or cream, should not be a problem. The only caution is that caffeine may effect blood pressure in some people. Sugar is basically empty calories - other than an energy source, it has no significant nutritional value. While a moderate amount of sugar won't interfere with a reversal program, many people tend to let it take the place of foods that provide nutrients essential to reversing heart disease and controlling cholesterol.
