I was wondering if there are any studies related to heart disease and the acidic content of the body/blood.

The reason I ask is that things like meat, coffee, sugar, eggs are acidic to the body (negative PH). On the other hand - most veggies are alkaline (positive PH). It seems to me then, that a veggie diet would push the body more alkaline and less acidic - thus promoting good health?

Could there be a correlation between the two?

Thank you
