In general, most people can tolerate an 81 mg aspirin a day without having it effect their clotting time significantly. But there are many people who are much more sensitive to the anti-platelet effect of aspirin and who should use it with caution. That's why we recommend that anyone starting a daily aspirin regime first consult with their physician. A person without multiple risk factors, who who has not been diagnosed with cardio-vascular disease - and who follows a prevention lifestyle should not require a daily dose of aspirin.
