Dr. Pinckney: I've been grinding my flax seeds in a blender for years. It's an 8 spd. Proctor Silex. I use the slowest speed. I grind about a cup at a time. After about 45 seconds, or so, I stop the blender, and shake up the contents, to move the unground seeds to the center, or where they have a chance to be ground. Sometimes I pick up the whole blender when it's running, and shake it, to redistribute the mix. Admittedly that's probably more involved than using a coffee grinder, so maybe I'll buy one. :-) However, the finished product is well ground, with very few unground seeds. I put them in a tightly sealed plastic container, and store them in the freezer. They keep for as long as it takes for me to use them, usually about 2 weeks.
