I would just to comment that I was able to reduce my total cholesterol from 190 to just 98 almost without statins (just 5 mg of Crestor 3 times a week). My Doc said after that dramatic reduction that with Vegan diet I could do without statins at all to drop Total Cholesterol to levels well under 150 and still be at the safe side and without the beta blocker to reduce Blood Pressure, that went from 140X90 to 120X7 due to weight reduced of about 15 Kg. The TC went down, I know from all Vegan literature, that it is due to the fact that plants do not have cholesterol as animals do. I understand that each individual is different and therefore results may vary for each person.
