My doctor wanted to put me on statins but I refused because I fear I won't be able to buy insurance if I'm on prescription medications when the inevitable day comes that I lose my job.

So, on my own, I started taking red yeast rice.

Also, I don't see how your post to the original poster of "We strongly recommend that you establish a liver enzyme baseline" is any less close to medical advice than the information I asked for; but then, I've always had a hard time differentiating which questions constitute a request for medical advice and which don't.
