You said according to Framingham study if total cholesterol is below 150 then chances of heart attack is minimum.
I was wondering how placement of drug eluting stents will alter the above risk prediction.
How does having stents in your artery will change the outcome even if someone followed the program and maintained total cholesterol below 150? I ask this question as the arteries remain no more in natural form after the placement of stents. what about tissue growth etc or once the total cholesterol is below 150 then stent or no stent makes no difference as far the reversal of the disease is concerned. Are you aware of any studies information along these line? I know Dr Essy's and Ornish's patient had stents, bypass surgery etc..still I would like to know if you had more information on this.
