I have read previous posts about oil, so I'm taking this to mean that I should completely avoid oils, even plant based ones. But the pressure from even my vegetarian friends is incredible. They simply cannot believe that a diet should not include any oils at all.

In a previous post from you, Dr. Pinckney, I read your recommendation of a tablespoon of walnuts or ground flaxseed near or with a meal (I assume that would be the daily MAXIMUM in such a case), so I may try that to play it safe.

One other issue - eating meals in restaurants. I'm not particularly interested in eating in restaurants at all, but there are some social situations that go easier if I go along with such gatherings. But other than a leafy green salad with no dressing and dry whole wheat toast, there is nothing on the menu, even in our local vegetarian restaurant, that doesn't include oil of some sort. Any thoughts on that?
