Some of the material you have indicated would be helpful is already available, although it may not be easy to find any more. Bill Moyers did a PBS special on the Ornish program, interviewing some of the people who have reversed their heart disease. A few other video tapes have also been produced and some have appeared on TV. I don't know if they're still avaialable, but you may be able to get them through Dr. Ornish's PMRI (Preventive Medicine Research Institute) in Sausalito, CA., or from the service that sells PBS programs. The week-long residential retreats have been taken over by a private concern and are no longer run by PMRI. It is unlikely we'll see many more programs, as privacy concerns make it very difficult to get permission to record much of what happens at a retreat. I started this forum as a 'remote' support group some years ago because PMRI had no immediate plans to offer one through the internet. It was hoped it would function as a support group for those who didn't have one available, but user demand has changed it into its present format. It's not realistic to expect physicians to donate the amount of time on the web that would be necessary to have the kind of interaction you envision. When I first started this forum, some well-known medical experts joined in and provided responses, but they weren't able to continue as demand increased. Many people want personal medical advice, but legal liablity issues make providing such advice inadvisable. Thank you for your kind words about what help I've been able to provide. Knowing others have benefited is what makes this effort worthwhile.
