After being on Lipitor for about a year I started having pain in my lower legs and feet. Two doctors told me it couldn't be the Lipitor since it was only my lower legs and that Lipitor would cause the whole body to hurt. One suggested it might be due to low thyroid. The pain eased up a little but became unbearable a year later and developed an irregular heartbeat. On hearing my symptoms a third doctor took me off the Lipitor immediately. The pain has eased up but reoccurs periodically. The irregular heartbeat doesn't seem to occur as often. I am now worried about permanent damage. I was on this stuff for three years after the problem started because the doctors refused to believe that Lipitor could be the problem.
