When I was 50 years old I had my first angiogram (all together, I have had 4) I was diagonosed with Coronary artery disease. Right side blocked an left side just about blocked. I was put on Lipitor. My total cholesterol was 200. After 1 month on Lipitor it was 113. They dropped my Lipitor to 20 mg at night and 1/2 hour later, 1000 milligrams of Niaspan to help raise my good Chol (HDL - it was now at 23)I was on it over 1 year with bloodwork every 6 months when I started having lower leg pain and cramping in calves and my feet. I called my cardiologist and he had bloodwork ran. My CPK's have always been high but they zoomed wayyyy out tp 679. I was taken off Lipitor and eventually the symtoms went away. 1 year later I saw a (spelling....rhumetologist) and she said that I shouldn't be tested for CPK but for Aldolade (another way to check muscle enzymes. She diagnoised me with Fibromyalgia)I was put back on Lipitor. Now bad and off lipitor for good. Pain in lower legs and cramping, burning. In 1 more month I have more hepectic liver blood test to see if the aldolade is down. I am afraid I may have Rhabdomyolysis. Right side worse than left. Affects my legs, feet to the point I can hardly walk, neck, elbows, shoulders, wrists, etc. I will watch this site now that I have found it. I am wondering if there is any way to reverse the symtoms. I feel as back now if not worse when I was on the lipitor. Visit this link below. I found it looking for side affects of Lipitor. Once you are at the site injuryboard.com look up heart, rx&over the counter meds, chol drugs and you will come rhabdomyolysis and myositis.
