(Forgot to mention the major pain in the neck I have too. Around T-1, T-2, my post follows) Subj: Lipitor and possible side effects From: CurtTX53@aol.com I started Lipitor about 10 months back. About 7 weeks ago I developed bad muscle and joint pain along with a rash on palms of hands and split finger tips. My finger joints have little red dots on them that feel like red ants biting when pressed. The flu was going around I thought I caught it. After 12 days I began to wonder, I remembered reading the warning about muscle pains on my Lipitor sheet, I stopped the Lipitor. The pain continued. Upon further review I wonder, in the last 9 months I have torn my left rotator cuff, a large tear, repaired in surgery. I have tore my right rotator cuff, a large tear, repaired in surgery. My right rotator when it tore my right long bone BI-cep tendon snapped, it could not be repaired, it had slid down my arm to about mid humeral bone. Now, as if all that was not enough it looks as if my right medial meniscus is torn, I see the surgeon this Thursday the 2nd of May. I have seen three Doctors, the surgeon is the same one who repaired my shoulders. He will be the fourth. My heart Doctor gave me a clean bill of health with many tests, she thinks the lipitor caused Myositis (check the spelling). My D. O. also gave me a full line of blood/urine tests, they were negative except for some anemia and thinks that the glue in my connective tissues is messed up maybe do to the lipitor. My surgeon thinks the lipitor caused the muscle thing, same as the Cardio Doctor. My Primary whom I saw today ordered the MRI for the right knee, he thinks I am an Orthopedic Doctors dream come true. Has me using a steroid cream for hands it has sealed the splits, not removed the red dots or bad tightness. He believes I have a Connective Tissue Disease. All I know is that prior to the Lipitor I never tore anything. I have 6 bad disks from an Auto accident in "73" but never tore anything. If not for the Paxil I was placed on three months back I believe I would have gone to the forest and got lost. Hope this helps someone else out there. Take care all! Curt (CurtTX53@aol.com)
