My cholesterol was 251.....moderate LDL. I was started on 10mg lipitor. Routine labwork was scheduled for 3 weeks. My CPK (cardiac enzymes) shot up to 460. Normal is zero to 170. This is the test that helps predict cardiac damage. This is supposed to be a rare side effect of lipitor, but it has stressed me out much. My Doctor called my emergency contacts the day the CPK results were reviewed, to stop it immediately. My CPKs are still up 3 weeks later without lipitor. Afraid of cardiac damage here
