After a good lipid panel result my doctor put me on 2000mgs of Niacin to bring down the triglyceride levels. I had blood sugar levels of around 175 before and now its up to 450 and my GP put me on medication and announced that I was now a diabetic. I think I have Niacin to thank for that eventhough I know I was probabally broderling before. I don't understand how a doctor could subcribe niacin without looking at my blood sugar levels first. I hate this and I don't know who to get mad at, me or the doctor. Could this sugar thing been avoided?
