I had severe leg cramps and pain from Lipitor which I stopped taking about 2 months ago. Most of the pain has gone away however I still experience twinges in my calf muscles as well as cramping and 'charley-horse' after mild exercise. I am concerned about possible long-term effects of muscle degeneration as a result of this drug. My doctor said my symptoms would disappear within a couple of weeks of stopping the drug but they have not gone away completely. I have always been extremely active and now find that my muscles, especially my legs, tire so easily that I am only able to do a fraction of what I used to do. Has anyone else had residual long term effects from Lipitor?
