Yes, Carol there are others like you. I hate taking medicines too but have just started taking Lipitor because my LDL's were too high. I have very good HDL's but was unable to bring the LDL's down with diet so have started on meds.

I do not seem to have any of the digestive type side effects the doctor mentioned, but I am experiencing similar aches and pains to yours. Legs, shoulders, arms. etc. I am a person who is generally very active and have a high energy level but the last few days the achiness is getting me down. I have been very physically active this past week but do not believe that is causing my achiness -- I have always exercised a lot without any side effects and the achiness is not the kind one gets from over exertion. I cannot live my lifesytle aching all the time so am calling the doctor on Monday to see what she suggests.

Has anyone had success with any other cholesterol lowering drug without this kind of side effect?
