Tom M, I've been on Lipitor for several years with no known side effects. However, over the last year I have had one muscle pain problem after another. I now have a similar problem with my elbows that occurred after moderate construction work, only a couple of days. They have been tender and sore for several weeks and dont seem to be getting better. I had a similar experience with my lower back several months ago, finally getting a little relief by not doing much for months. Prior to this, I have had no pains of any sort. I am very active, exercise daily, and am generally in great health. The lipitor has brought my cholesterol down 50 %. The only thing that has changed in the last year with me is my Cozaar medication was increased from 25 to 50 mg daily, and, I've increased my protien intake 25%. But that doesn't seem to go along with the pain effects. Thanks for your post, I think I'm looking in the right direction, Jim R
