Recently, there have been new recommendations for the 'normal' limits for HDL and LDL cholesterol, but most laboratories use these in their reports:
HDL = over 34 mg/dl (3.37 mm/l)
LDL = under 130 " (0.89 mm/l)
There is little known about the predictive value of HDL and LDL for persons with cholesterol under 150 mg/dl (3.9 mm/l).
