Lipitor and other cholesterol-lowering medications have been found to have an effect on liver function in a small percentage of people. For that reason, physicians typically monitor liver function in the first few months of prescribing one of them, and then occasionally afterward.
I cannot speak to any 'liver aids', but almost all of the ones I've seen have been not much more than snake oil; many claims, few benefits. Only your own physician can tell you if your liver function is effected, and what benefits, if any, a 'liver aid' might have for you.
