A different unit of measure is used in the U.S.A. (mg/dl) and much of the rest of the world (mm/l). They can easily be converted:
To change from mm/l to the mg/dl (the US measure), multiply by 34.5.
To change from mg/dl (the US measure) to mm/l multiply by 0.029
The most compelling research and clinical studies indicates that one should keep one's cholesterol under 150 mg/dl (US) or 4.35 mm/l.
