Although the recent sound bite on research that apparently shows that the heart can repair itself after damage should be taken as positive it was also mentioned that this points the way in developing a new range of drugs. Of course more research will have to be undertaken and it will take many years before anything is developed and available on the market (the news however does amplify the importance of diet and lifestyle changes giving the heart every chance to repari itself)
I couldn't help to think however that this attitude is typical of the cure mentality and appears to be just another blind alley instead of a greater emphasis on a change in diet and lifestyle which is ultimately cheaper and doesn't the involve the potential side effects of drugs.
I wonder what Dr Pickeney's opinion is on this matter?
