Hi I have been eating in a vegetarian fat free manner for around 10 weeks and the results have been marvelous. I lost 18 pounds and my cholesterol went down 100 points. I had a heart attack last September and a stent was put in my LAD artery which was 100% blocked. About two and half months ago I bought Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn's book and began to follow his dietary suggestions. I also went back to the gym where I used to work out and began a fitness regimen. On Easter I prepared the turkey and my wife cooked the fixings for a family get together. I decided I could eat some turkey and so on for this one day. So I did. I felt sick afterwards. This amazed me, since I didn't really eat that much. I am not sure it is safe to deviate from the diet even on several holidays per year. I wonder if a meal like that can undo some of the good following Dr, Esselstyn's suggestions and using recipes from this website had done for me.
