Okay, so here's what it all comes down to. There is a grocery store about six miles from my home that has a good selection of locally grown and organic produce. I don't drive and my husband (who does) refuses to come in the store with me, insisting on going back home and waiting for me to finish and picking me up again. Thus, about 24 miles of car driving in total for organically grown local foodstuffs. There is another grocery store about a mile and a half (easily within walking distance,) that has more standard (non-organic, from...wherever...) produce.

In short, do I get the food that takes much less toll on the environment to manufacture, but more to get, or the food that causes more damage in making, but less in getting. What do I do and why?

Thanks,
-Me
