“some” bugs are repelled by a strong garlic and hot pepper spray. However, this spray might also repel the "good" bugs who pollinate your plants -- so you might have to hand pollinate if you use it.
Make the spray by blending some fresh garlic and some of the hottest peppers you can find in a blender with water until liquefied. You can make it as strong as you like. Strain out any remaining solids, put the liquid in a sprayer, and spray your plants with it until it starts to drip off of them. Also, you can put the remaining solids around your plants -- to make them "stink" even more!
Mixing a little vegetable oil or soap with this spray might help it stick on better -- but do not use much of them because too much oil might cause the plants to sunburn and too much soap can simply burn the plants. If I remember correctly, use NO more than 1 Tbs of vegetable oil per 1 gallon of spray. Can’t remember how much soap is safe to mix with a gallon of spray.
Hope this helps!
