The outdoor power industry has gone through many changes in the past few years. The orginal Troy-Built own by Garden Way went bankrupt, they had a good product but thje american comsumer wouldn't pay the price for quality products so the went belly up. It all boils down to you get what you pay for. You spend 150.00 for a trimmer you are going to get one that last a couple of years and maybe bad service out of it. The unit could br fixed but would you pay the price to fix it. It comes down to profit. many repair shops deal with low to no profit because of these low priced box store units weather trimmers, blowers, or tillers. the cost to fix them out weighs the relacement cost. Consider the price next time you buy a peice of equipment and how you will be using it. I own a repair shop I see it everyday.
