Perhaps spreading some melted hot pepper wax (wax with ground real hot peppers in it) around your yard (on things that it won't hurt) will help. Hot pepper spray might work on the more delicate things that the hot wax might harm (like plants) but its effects will not last very long -- especially in rainy weather.
I have heard (but do NOT know for sure) that you can mix some ground hot pepper with bird seed to keep some animals from eating it, but that the birds do not mind the hot pepper.
If you try these ideas please let me know how well they worked.
